Have your say: Consultation on traffic changes to West End Lane
TFL and Camden Council are proposing a series of major changes along West End Lane between Cleve Road and Fawley Road. Many of these changes come after years of pressing by WHAT (West Hampstead Amenity & Transport) and we’d encourage you to have a look at the consultation here and respond by 11 December.
The key change is to introduce a right-turn waiting area for southbound traffic turning into Iverson Road, to improve bus reliability and ease congestion. Other proposed changes are aimed at making it safer to cross the road and cycle in the area. They include new planted areas at the junctions with Hemstal Road and Sherriff Road, adjustments to traffic light timings, widened pedestrian crossings, and continuous pavements at selected junctions.
There are also plans for early-release traffic light signals and advanced stop lines for cyclists, a cycle lane on Hemstal Road, and delivery bays for Tesco and Sainsbury’s on Lymington and Fawley Roads.
