O2 Centre

Latest Update - 5th February 2026

You may have recently heard about the amendments to the amended masterplan for the O2 Centre redevelopment on Finchley Road. Landsec, the owner of the site, has proposed to reduce the number of affordable homes on the site from 630 to only 360 - a drop from 35% affordable to 20%! This follows the Labour government’s reduction in the affordable housing quota for new developments.

As Liberal Democrats, we think this is unacceptable. Any major redevelopment on such a prominent site should be making a stronger, not weaker, contribution to meeting local housing needs. The earlier scheme already fell short of Camden’s usual quota of 50% affordable, and reducing the number of affordable homes further shows that this development will not deliver balanced, sustainable outcomes for the area.

The Camden Liberal Democrats have been a strong voice on the issue for some time and will continue to campaign for a better result for residents.
