Katie Mansfield Selected as Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hampstead and Highgate

The Camden Liberal Democrats have announced Katie Mansfield as their official candidate for the Hampstead and Highgate parliamentary seat.
Katie brings a strong record as a campaigner and community organiser within London. Currently a councillor in Richmond-upon-Thames, she has served as Vice Chair of Transport and Lead Member for the redevelopment of Richmond Town Centre. She also sits on the London Policy Committee and chairs the Liberal Democrat national High Streets and Town Centre Policy Working Group.
Katie has led impactful campaigns to stop violence against women and girls, challenge damaging Thames Water developments, and lobbied TfL to improve road safety. She has built cross-sector partnerships with schools, police, and universities to deliver lasting community change.
“I bring experience, energy, and a deep commitment to making politics work for people,” said Katie. “Hampstead and Highgate deserves a representative who can listen, lead and fight for our local priorities and the values we share.”
Katie’s campaign will focus on protecting and revitalising local high streets, visible local policing, sustainable development and NHS and social care reform.
Katie has lived in London for 25 years and raised three children while building a career in marketing. She believes this brings both professional and personal insight into the real pressures people face and is determined to fight for a fairer and greener future.
As the formal opposition to Labour on the council, Camden Liberal Democrats are gaining momentum and are well-placed to make gains when voters next go to the polls in the 2026 council elections. There is also growing speculation about a parliamentary by-election in the constituency before the 2029 general election.
