“Council funding allocation means Camden residents will pay more, and get less” say Lib Dems
At the Camden Council meeting on 19 January Lib Dem councillor Janet Grauberg took Labour councillors to task for celebrating the Labour Government’s funding allocation which delivers real terms cuts to funding.
In a motion before the Council, she said “The simple fact is that over the next three years Camden residents will pay more in Council Tax, and will get less in services. Camden’s local government finance allocation assumes that Council Tax will rise by 4.99%, and doesn’t provide any funding for inflation – meaning there will be need to be cuts to services just to stand still.”
“By celebrating this announcement Camden’s Labour councillors are at odds with everyone else in Local Government. They need to wake up and smell the coffee – the Labour Government is failing the people of Camden.”
