Joan “Jo” Baktis has lived in the Borough for over 30 years and is actively involved with the Friends of St Georges’ Gardens and the Friends of Russell Square. She believes that the Council should listen to the concerns of local residents and is passionate about developing a sense of community and improving the quality of local life. Currently, Jo is a stakeholder governor at UCLH, and a trustee of an associated charity, the Friends of UCLH. Her professional background was in financial management in an international telecoms company, and latterly running the administration of a local charity.
